Please read everything carefully before adding your link(s).
1. To add your link you must fill up all the fields in the form.
2. If you are adding a link of a brush site, you must include a detailed list of all your brush sets within the keyword field. Brush sites that will not include these details will not be accepted. I will check each link personally to make sure the keywords reflect the site contents. Why am I so insistent? Because the whole point of a search engine is to make it easier for people to search for things, and in this case people will be searching for various types of brush sets. The more detailed your keyword list will be, the better the chances that people will locate what they need.
What is a detailed list of brush sets? It's not only a single description of each set, but if you have a set that consists of a few items, please list them all as keywords. For instance, you might have a set that you titled grunge, but it contains various sorts of grunge like scratches, and grungy borders, and dirt. The keywords for this set will be: "grunge, scratches, grungy borders, dirt". Or a set that contains various shapes - the keyword list will be: "circles, heart, stars, boxes"... etc.
3. The difference between site description and keywords. The description should include a few words about your site, just to give the visitors a clue (it can say that the site is a fanart site, a resource site, and so on), while the keywords should be as detailed as you think possible. Here's the description and keywords that I entered for vbrush:
Description:
A Huge collection of brush sets (over 100 sets) subjects ranging from grunge to vintage, to digital camera, to scribbles and scripture, many abstract shapes and styles to try from, and many unusual ideas and styles. vbrush also has a nice selection of tutorials for the brush beginner and expert. Keywords:
abstract, shapes, arrows, blur, swirls, cardiac, lines, curls, grid, grunge, radar, scribbles, doodles, screen, waves, vintage, old stuff, Da Vinci, Galileo, coffee stains, blotch, clock, curves dots, graph, interlaces, Gillian Anderson, letters, oldies, ornamental, hand writing, ads, old ads, old documents, sport, people, mood, text, diagram, scientific, mail, blueprints, DNA, charts, maps, antique, medieval, star chart, pattern, mess, ancient, alchemy, Pentateuch, scripture, oriental, stars, rose, biology, insects, boxes, jellyfish, sea, underwater, veins, mechanical, sprocket, circles, angels, butterflies, old book, fifties, 50s, hair, tape, scotch tape, sticky tape, real life, Hebrew, watercolor, paint, bad photocopy, digital, digital camera, dollar, plants, ivy, flowers, floral, barcode, old paper, parcel, torn paper, Easter, rabbit, eggs, audio tape, cassette, spheres, balls, music, dirt, radio4. Make sure that your site fits the category it will be listed in.
5. If you have a brush site that has brushes for various versions of photoshop or paintshop pro, you can either list it in each program category, or you can include it in the "multi programs" category. If you use the second option, be sure to write for which programs your brushes are good within the site description. If you are interested in more hits to your site, though, you might prefer including your site in all relevant categories.
6. If you feel that your site doesn't fit any of the existing categories, please contact me by email before submitting your site. If I see there is a need, a new category will be created especially.
7. Please do not add links of site that you don't own. If you think a site like this should be added, please send me an email with the site's details and I will add it after I checked that everything is OK.
8. Only submit your site if it contains original brushes that you created. I will not accept sites with brushes made by other artists unless these artists do not have their own site. I will definitely not include sites that offer other people brushes without their permission, and I won't include sites that have brushes made out of other people's brushes.
9. I am accepting DeviantArt brush artists as well so feel free to add your page according to the proper listing.
10. If you add sets to your site, please update the info in the search engine and don't forget to copy the original keyword list.
11. If you have stopped offering brushes on your site, please contact me and I will remove your site.
12. Dead links will be removed.
13. If you don't know which version of photoshop or PSP you made your brushes in (for some odd reason...), please submit your site under the "no version specified" category. By the way, this will mean less hits for you so you might want to be more specific.
14. Don't submit your site if it still has no brush-related content. I don't add sites that might have brush content in the future. I will delete links that plan to have brush content and still don't have it.
15. Bandwidth issues... if your site can't handle heavy bandwidth you might want to reconsider its submission, especially if the site title begins with one of the first letters of the alphabet. The hits from the search engine can be massive which can be great but if your site cannot handle it it will be constantly down. If you have such a problem consider switching hosts before submitting.
If you follow all the above guidelines carefully, then most likely there should be no problems.
Please note that links are not added automatically. They need to be validated first, but I will try to add them as regularily as possible, so make sure to stop by from time to time to see what's new.
OK - now fill up the form and welcome aboard!
